On the heels of Magpul’s mass exodus, yet another gun accessory manufacturer has decided to flee the People’s Republic of Colorado due to recently imposed gun restrictions. Yes, the once conservative state now awash in marijuana, same-sex marriage, reduced college tuition for illegal immigrants and so much more (HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE) may soon surpass Hawaii as the bluest state in the nation. No doubt a few remaining patriots are beginning to ‘appreciate’ the prophetic Ant and Grasshopper parable: HERE
HiViz Gun Accessory Manufacturer Flees Colorado
(Report-Herald)
In opposition to recent gun restrictions, Fort Collins-based HiViz
Shooting Systems announced Monday its decision to leave Colorado.
The company, which started in Fort Collins in 1996, manufactures light-gathering sights, recoil pads and other gun accessories.
According to a company spokesman, HiViz
has received an outpouring of support since announcing its decision to
move out of state following the Colorado Legislature’s approval of laws
requiring universal background checks and limiting ammunition magazine sizes.
Representatives of economic development
boards and chambers of commerce in Casper, Wyo., Rapid City, S.D., and
Arizona have contacted HiViz in attempts to entice the company to choose
their city, according to marketing director Jeff Maust.
“But we cannot in clear conscience support with our taxes
a state that has proven through recent legislation a willingness to
infringe upon the constitutional rights of our customer base.”

Ah… suck it up HiViz! Taxpaying producers such as yourself
and Magpul are a detriment to Colorado’s economy and well-being.
Thankfully, those that depend on your products and services are already being severely punished…
Colorado Magazine Ban Forces Shooting Competition Cancelations
(Breitbart)
An International Defensive Pistol Association competition scheduled to
be held on July 4 in Montrose, CO, three days after the state’s new
magazine ban will go into effect, has been been canceled due to concerns
over the inability to legally acquire magazines for the shoot.
Moreover, because 300 shooters were
scheduled to attend from all over the country, there were concerns that
shooters bringing their own “high capacity” magazines might be found in
violation of the new laws.
Match coordinator Walt Proulx explained,
“If someone were planning to come to the events, and for some reason
needed to get new magazines for [the guns] they brought with them on
July 2, they would technically be in violation as soon as [their plane]
touched the ground.”
The cancellation of this event comes on
the heels of Ruger Firearms’ announcement that they will be moving the
2013 Ruger Rimfire Challenge World Championship out of the state of
Colorado as well.
